Over the years, Barlow Productions had seen a few different brand identities. On reflection, they felt some were a bit too corporate and others a bit too casual. They were looking for a design that embraced their technical and creative abilities as well as their approachable and friendly business style. Magnetize created a new brand identity that honored their legacy with timeless design.
A focus on quality
After seeing a range of concept options from the Magnetize creative team, Barlow landed on a design they felt best represented their company and would support their business for years to come. The design was inspired by diagrams of lens focal length to create an abstract letter “B.” The two overlapping shapes represent the collaborative approach they take with their clients, as well as their photo and video capabilities. The clean, geometric typography was inspired by their friendly approach to business and organized workflow. The font design and colors lend a subtle retro feel to the overall brand — a nod to their 1966 origins.
The logo animation we created simply followed the lines of the mark to emphasize the smooth workflow and ease of doing business with Barlow. The subtle turn of the plus sign hints at productivity.
Final production included development of a simple brand guide, basic stationery system pieces and delivery of the final logo files in all industry-standard formats.
Barlow Productions has the creative and technical production chops to support global clients with a midwestern approach. Magnetize designed a brand identity inspired by these values.
